Live from Convention

So, a fun-packed start to convention, with Jonn Lilyea of This Ain't Hell and Mr. Wolf, from Blackfive.  We got in Thursday night, and spent the evening just visiting with folks here in Minnesota for our Annual Convention.   Friday we headed out to the Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers game, accompanied by my sainted wife.  Mr Wolf talked about our experience there on Blackfive:

Last night, we had an opportunity to attend a Twins baseball game.  It was one gorgeous night out, weather-wise.  And given that the team is not exactly 'in contention' for any playoff spot, the attendance was fairly large.  We snagged some tickets and headed into the oxygen-deprived rows at the very top and rear of the stadium.  While we were enjoying the game, fellow blogger TSO found one of his friends in the owners box, adjacent to the stands where we were.  So, you can kinda guess where we actually ended up for most of the game.  Let me just say- owning a major league team gives you some pretty good spifs in your box... the pic above is the view from the rail. 

Saturday though was my highlight so far, when we went to the "Hillbilly Hunt Club" of a MN Legionnaire friend of mine.   Jonn has some pictures up here, but just to give you a feel for the available weaponry, watch these video's Mr. Wolf made:

Saturday night we headed out to the Vikings Cowboys game, after my boss graciously gave us some tickets to the game.  I think I have the Vikes offensive plan summed up: hand it off to Adrian Peterson.  Would have worked too, but the Cowboys blocked a field goal attempt and ran it all the way back.  Vikes lost by 3, and my wife got to use her "Marshall Voice from How I Met Your Mother" by repeatedly yelling "Damn!"  (If you haven't seen the episode, you won't get it.)

And yesterday was of course Parade Day, and Mr Wolf has up video and pictures of the delegations and the little girl pictured above, who was absolutely adorable.  Not pictured is the 10 Guinness too many I had while watching the parade.

Tomorrow is JAM PACKED with a visit from President Obama, and a host of other politicians.  Alas, I won't be here to see it, as I am off to the Pennsylvania State House to testify on some immigration bills they are considering.  But, you can watch everything you need at the main page of the Legion.
