Robert: We are at American Legion Post 377 - Our "home-town" legion. Post CDR Carl Miller is meeting with the Cal U Vets Club Vice-President now. The donations have officially started to come in.
Robert: We are here at Roscoe, American Legion Post 801. Always such a supportive Post. They attend our annual Veterans Day luncheons and work together with us on fundraising activities. It's really a great thing to see how everyone pulls together for such a great cause.
Our new Post 9/11 Era Veterans Scholarship has really taken off in the last 5 months. Now, we are working to support the Legacy Scholarship fund through this trip as well. All proceeds will be split 50/50. What a great cause. The Vets Club members (students) really pull together make this happen!
We just arrived at Gowanda, NY! What a great place. They welcomed us with arms wide open - talk about a beautiful place, this is it. Horseshoe pit, deck, beautiful creek outside. I'd like to stay here all day! ~ RP
On behalf of the California University of Pennsylvania Veterans Club we would like to thankthe Gowanda American Legion Post 409 for your hospitality. You have a wonderful place and a place to be proud of. Thanks again and God Bless. - JB
Well, our mission to Buffalo is complete and we are on our way back to Cal U of Pa. Fundraising went well, but it was the relationships and awareness that we deemed critical to our success. We met a lot of great folks and hope that some of the American Legions continue to support their local Veterans as most of them already do. We also hope that you consider sending a donation to our organization and supporting our Post 9/11 Era Veterans Scholarship and American Legion Legacy Scholarship. For more information, contact veterans@calu.edu.
This was a great trip and although we had a few hiccups, a great job by the Cal U Vets Club members. This is our 3rd trip in 3 years doing similar activities. I will post an end of mission comment tomorrow (Monday)!
Thank you so much guys for making Post 409 in Gowanda one of your stops. We really enjoyed having you stay for "just one drink!" lol. You are always welcome to stop in any time you are heading up our way, and if you ever need any help please don' hesitate to contact us. Hope to see you all again, and please keep in touch!
P.S. Kevin says "Thank you!!!!" :-)
