Jihad on American Shores
Rochester, N.Y. - A Rochester resident, U.S. naturalized citizen and native of Yemen is behind bars after he was arrested for allegedly planning to kill U.S. Service Members as they came home from war. Mufid Elfgeeh, 30, was arrested by the Joint Terrorism Task Force Saturday in the Hudson Avenue Wal-Mart parking lot after investigators said he bought two unregistered firearms with silencers.
Investigators said those guns were "rendered inoperable" prior to purchase. "Mr. Elfgeeh expressed on numerous occasions his interest in killing American service men as they're returning from the war zones," said U.S. Attorney William Hochul.
"He also spoke about hurting members of the Shi'a Muslim community here in Rochester." Elfgeeh is charged with two counts of receipt and possession of an unregistered firearm silencer. According to the affidavit, Elfgeeh also spoke of hurting members of the Shi'a Muslim community. He also expressed his support for terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda on social media.
Let's hope he's not part of a future POW swap.
