The professor has a point. At this stage in the history of humankind it would be constructive to pause and ask is this how we should relate to one another? We have been quick to engage in warfare. It is time to go another way.

It is unlawful to shout fire in a crowded movie theater. It is ill advised to represent yourself in a court of law. To spit in the face of those men and women that fight and die to preserve your right to be wrong, is irreverent,ungrateful and naive to say the least.

I applaud Professor Avery for speaking his mind. I spent two tours of duty in Vietnam and flew border patrol on the Korean DMZ and the Tri-Zonal border in Germany, just so he would have the right to speak his mind without fear of any repurcussion.

This Professor does not seem to be able to see both sides of an issue. "SHAMEFUL" Any war is shameful, but the professor sees only one side of that issue . I would not like to be a defendant in a "self-defense" case in a court-room with him as a defense attorney. He could not see both sides of the issue, and with that in mind should give up teaching and any practice of law.

This professor is just one of the many things wrong in our Colleges today. His type of logic is as sick as one can be. Frankly, there are far too many so called Liberal Professors teaching our younger generation absolutely nothing but how to destroy our free society and are really basically the Enemy within. It would be nice if our troops didn't have to go abroad to help defend our freedoms but without them, we would be nothing like this Professor is.

Our military is not "over there" to kill people. Killing is incidental to the mission of protecting others. Asimov said, "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." Yes, war is violence, and, since we seem incompetent to convince certain people to stop hating and killing other people, war is the right choice. Consider this: at least the professor doesn't HAVE to speak German if he doesn't want to.
